Early Life: Childhood, Education
He was born Alkiviades David in May 1968 in Lagos, Nigeria, to a shipping and trading family of Greek-Cypriot origin.
His father was Andrew A. David, who was born and raised in Petra, Cyprus, and went on to get a degree in business at Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland. In 1957, Andrew joined the family business, the Leventis-David Group in Ghana. He managed the Coca-Cola Bottling Plant in Accra, Ghana’s capital.
David received his early education at Stowe School in Buckinghamshire England before attending high school in Le Rosey in Switzerland. He later went to London where he studied film at the Royal College of Art.
