From there, he was moved to the trade department where he performed remarkably well.

He said that, over the past decade, he had been paying taxes in Switzerland, and Finland, prior to that. The United States Department of Treasury announcement of persons under sanctions due to the 2014 Crimean crisis lists Gennady as a citizen of Russia, Armenia, and Finland.
