Professional Life: Entrepreneurial Career
Guy Oseary was only 17 years old when he started working as an independent A&R representative in 1989. He soon became one of the earliest employees of Madonna’s Maverick music record label in the year 1992. At the age of 19, he joined Maverick Record Label as an A&R executive, and then swiftly rose through the ranks to chairman, developing a long list of talented artists that included Summercamp, Michelle Branch, Paul Oakenfold, The Wreckers, Deftones, Alanis Morissette, and The Prodigy. He also worked on the soundtracks of film series as “Kill Bill”, “Austin Powers”, and “The Matrix”.
Through his influence and guidance, the Maverick group was able to sell more than 100 million albums worldwide and claimed its spot as one of the leading boutique labels in the American entertainment industry.
As part of Maverick Films, Guy Oseary executive produced Rob Zombie’s earliest two ventures into feature film production: “The Devil’s Rejects” and “House of 1000 Corpses”.
