Laurie David was born in the United States on March 22, 1958. Raised in a Jewish family, she moved to Ohio where she studied journalism at the Ohio University, graduating with her hard-earned degree in journalism in 1979.

Soon after she completed her studies, she found employment working in the entertainment industry as a talent coordinator for the ‘David Letterman Show’. Once she had left her job, she created her management company and began making a name by representing comedians and writers of comedy. Laurie also began making comedy specials for HBO, Showtime, Fox Television, and MTV. She then came up with two documentary films ‘Fed Up’ and ‘An Inconvenient Truth’.
