Her brother, named James Pritzker, is the founder of the Pritzker Military Library. The billionaire Karen Pritzker Vlock is her sister. She has two other siblings from her father’s second marriage. They’re named Matthew Pritzker and Liesel Pritzker Simmons. After her parents divorced in 1979 her father remarried Irene Dryburgh while her mother remarried Albert B. Ratner, a businessman and the co-chair of Cleveland-based real estate firm Forest City Enterprises

After working as a psychotherapist for several years, Linda Pritzker started a spiritual path to Tibetan Buddhism. In 2005, she was ordained a lama by a Tibetan meditation master named Tulku Sangak Rinpoche, who is also a world holder of the Namchak Lineage, a denomination of the Nyingma path of Tibetan Buddhism.
