As an undergraduate, Marc interned twice at IBM in Austin, Texas. He worked in the AIX graphics software program development group. Following his college graduation, Marc moved to California to work for Enterprise Integration Technologies. He later met with Jim Clark the founder of Silicon Graphics, who saw potential in the Mosaic browser. Because the University of Illinois was displeased with the company’s use of the name Mosaic, Marc and Clark changed the name of their company to Netscape Communications.
