Robert Trump’s Biography & Career
Robert Stewart Trump was born on August 26, 1948. He was raised in New York in the United States alongside his other four siblings of whom he was the youngest. His sisters were Elizabeth and Maryanne, while his brothers were Fred Jr. and Donald, who went on to become the 46th President of the United States of America.
He attended Boston University and majored in economics there, and also played soccer and captained his team in 1969 when he was named MVP. Unlike Donald, who studied at New York Military Academy before enrolling at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, not many details is known about the academic history of Robert Trump. However, one can be confident that his education must have taken place in several well-known schools.
He was the youngest child in his family. His father, Fred Trump, was one of the top real estate developers in the whole of New York. His grandfather, Frederick Trump, was also an industrialist who made riches during the Gold Rush. With this massive inheritance, Fred Trump established a company and named it ‘Elizabeth Trump & Son’, after his mother. Years afterwards, when Donald Trump inherited the family resources and became the President and Chairman, he changed the name of the company to ‘The Trump Organization’, and continued to occupy the positions he held until he became President of the United States.
The Trump Organization is the real estate business of the family, and Robert Trump became a top executive when he joined. He was responsible for the real estate holdings of the Trump Organization outside Manhattan and New York. Donald Trump took over as the company’s President and Chairman after his father, Fred, passed away in 1999.
Robert Trump retired from active duties in the office of the Trump Organization when he got much older, and settled with his partner Ann Marie Pallan in a $3.7 million worth home situated in Millbrook, New York. After his retirement, he indulged in many philanthropic and community service endeavors. He also acted as an angel investor and mentored entrepreneurs and non-profit organizations in the vicinity. In addition, he also served as a trustee of the Angels of Light, a not-for–profit organization that supports and entertains citizens by providing holidays. He also made huge donations to animals, especially horse rescue operations.
Awards & Achievements
Although he never won any major awards as he was neither a celebrity nor public person, his work while serving in his father’s company earned him much respect and showed he was a worthy heir of Fred Trump, who was a prominent American billionaire real estate developer and businessman. His activities as a philanthropist also speak on his behalf. He completely gave a big part of his life towards community service activities as well as animal rescue and care operations, and will be remembered for these kind gestures for years to come.
Personal Life & Family
Robert Trump was first married to Blaine Trump. Their marriage was a happy one and went on to last for 25 years. This marriage could have lasted many more years, but Robert lost focus and found himself having an extra-marital affair with former secretary and business colleague Ann Marie Pallan. This led his marriage to Blaine Trump to end in divorce in 2006.
He and Ann met while she worked in the Trump Company’s office in Brooklyn. Her family owns and operates Gurney’s, which is a popular resort and spa in Montauk, at an end of Long Island.
